As of late I have been suffering from a lack of focus. I have been allowing myself to get distracted by the challenges in my life and pastimes that are not helping me to attain my goals. All of this has caused any growth in my business to stagnate.
On the positive I at least realize this is all my fault. There will be no finger pointing and trying to blame other people for my problems. It is all on me and the decisions I have made. To say I have made many bad decisions in the last few months is an understatement.
What can I do to turn things around?
1. Get back into a reading habit. I need to start reading the books I have gotten through my business. Books such as "The Magic of Thinking Big" and "Think and Grow Rich". Reading positive books like this help to maintain a positive frame of mind and protect me mentally from all of the negative crap in my life. Reading will give me the knowledge to deal with people and with the challenges I am going through in my personal life.
2. Listen to the learning CD's from the business, these will educate me on the nuts and bolts on building a successful network marketing business. I didn't land the day job I have by walking in off the street one day and saying "Hey hire me!", no I went to college. Going to college was far more expensive then the CD's or the books in this business. It is crazy to think I could just build any business without getting the knowledge in how that business is built and run.
3. Practice delayed gratification. I spend too much money I things I want now! This is money better spend paying my bills down and in building my business. Once my business builds to critical mass I will have more than enough money to eradicate my bills and enjoy lifestyle.
4. Get off my lazy butt and get things done. I have a habit of starting things and then not following through and finishing them. I need to write down what I what to accomplish and then break it down into baby steps I can do on a daily basis to achieve my goals. I then need to follow through and do these action steps everyday.
5. Be true to my word and be accountable 100% of the time. Also I need to be honest with myself. As it has been said by leaders in my business, "Thou shalt not jive thyself."
6. Write my goals down. I know this needs to be done, yet I have not done it.
7. Talk to people everyday about my business and/or my products. Stop prejudging people and being afraid to speak to people. Fear is holding me back from what I NEED to do. Points one and two above will help me with this challenge.
8. Seek counsel. There are leaders in this business that have built successful businesses and I have not gone to them asking how I can improve myself. I need to go to them on a regular basis and be willing to learn from them.
9. Stop wasting my time on trivial pursuits. I spend too much time playing video games. I really enjoy them and playing them with friends and family, however they are not going to pay my bills and secure my future. There are other hobbies as well and I need to trim the fat.
10. I need to spend a minimum of one to two hours everyday doing something productive for my business. I need to schedule this time and stick to the schedule.
These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. I need to re-read this post daily until doing these things becomes a habit. This is the only way that I will be able to move on and achieve the success I know I can attain.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Business...
Instead of complainimng about my life and the mistakes I have made, I have decided to be proactive and do something about it. To this end I have started a business in network marketing. Now before you think this will turn into an ad, relax. I have no intention of turning this site into a venue for building my business. Rather this will be a chronicle of my personal journey on the road to success.
Okay, that may sound somewhat pompous. But seriously writing about all of this will help me keep my focus. The act of discussing my goals and the plans I have will reinforce them in my mind and help me succeed.
Also writing this all down will make me accountable to you dear reader and again this will help propel me to stick to my goals.
That is it for now. Next time I will discuss goal setting and some of the goals I have set for my self. I will also have a book recommendation that discusses goals and why the are important.
Till next time.

On Success...
To be successful in anything you first have to have a burning desire.
This is not something I came up with on my own obviously, it is just a bit of wisdom that I have picked up from reading.
Forming a reading habit is something I am working on to better myself. I am not talking reading popular literature, but rather books written on the subject of bettering oneself. Bettering one self financially, spiritually, physically and mentally. Reading, as I have been instructed by my personal mentors, is the cornerstone to self improvement. It helps protect the mind from all of the garbage that tries to find it's way into you brain. Maintaining a positive attitude is easier because reading good books gives you the tool you need to succeed. The act of reading is also good for the brain, it makes the neural pathways stronger. A good analogy would be that its similar to lifting weights build your muscle strength.
The first line of this post was based on what read in the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.
So far this is a great book and I recommend it highly.
As I go along in this blog I will discuss what I am learning from these books. It will not be a book summary or review, but rather what I got from the book and how I am applying it to my life. Also if you kind reader wish to weigh in with you thoughts on the book I am discussing please feel free.
Also I would love to hear of any good books you may have read and how and why they have helped you.

My biggest gripe...
That would have to be not making what I feel I am worth.
However, that being said I know that it is my own fault for not being were I want to be financially.
I have made a lot of bad decisions and procrastinated when I knew I should be doing something about it.
Guess I can be my own worst enemy.
But then again, that can be said about a lot of people.
